The 50 micron X-Y scanner is designed specifically for the TT-AFM product. It utilizes three peizoceramics fitted with temperature-compensated strain gauges. The scanner includes amplifier circuits for the strain gauges. Electrical connectors to the scanner are through a 20-pin ribbon cable at the rear of  the stage. The round sample holder at the top of the stage may be removed and replaced with sample holders with extended features such as a sample clip.
